Thanks, Mary Ann. The new bed(s)I'm doing will be themed. But I can't decide on the theme. Space? Movies? Ocean? Superheroes? Military? I already have a few from each category so at least I have a start. Lol

Great idea for a thread, iris, garden chat and food! Caramel, cheesecakes, almonds! Lovey dubby Although 2 months ago I cut out sugar, bread, pasta, sigh..., all the good stuff! But I am eating good fresh organic homemade food, in smaller portions. feel better, sleep good and lost lots of weight. I'll gradually add in a few of the current foods I eliminated.

Brad, gorgeous photos as usual! I have been really enjoying adding these nursery shots, Mid-American in particular, I am so impressed with their intros! even their little ones are stunning.

I'm on day 4 of a diet... all the cheesecake talk is driving me crazy and got me drooling all over myself...

Yes Sue... I agree about feeling better w/out sugar etc... I usually clean up my act around this time of year, then slide back into bad behavior during jam season... If anyone has any alternate suggestions to preserving 20 gallons of kiwis, I'd be open to new ideas.

I was wondering what you do with all the Kiwi's I love them fresh, but there are only so many one can eat, and they don't keep that long. Never heard of Kiwi jam, so don't know if that would work.

Oh, Kiwi Jam sounds wonderful and if cooked kiwis stay green that would make it more interesting. Can you dry kiwis, Sherry? I guess you could mash some and freeze them to make pies with. ohhhh, kiwi pie! Or even a kiwi topping to pour over one of Toms cheesecakes. Gotta go to the kitchen now, back later..........

I've never cooked them in any way, and at $.75 each, I don't think I'm going to start that! I tried growing them here, but they never took, although I'm told there are winter hardy varieties, they never made it to winter. I make a honey dressing that I put on fresh fruit salad, and kiwi are good in that salad.

Looks like there are lots of recipes out there for Kiwi jam. I was thinking you'd need to add some acidity, this recipe calls for the addition of pineapple juice. Sounds yummy.

ohhhhh, that does sound yummy! Even a little lemon juice or zest would be good for acidity.

Lemon juice is what I was thinking too, I think I'd like that better.

We got a lovely blanket of snow during the night, looks like 2 or 3". Can't get anything done in the garden today, but it will be fun taking the dog out- she LOVEs snow, it's so funny to watch her play in it.

It is so coldy and dreary out (very cold rain too) so I just posted a very bright multiplant photo. Made me feel more cheery, but also made me long for spring! Sighing!

Just made the chocolate Ganache topping for the Turtle cheesecake, and toasted the peacans, Now I just have to make the carmel to drizzle over it, and I'm finished. Then I have to take a long nap so I can stay awake to do the auction. Whistling
