Arlene, that's just a wild guess on my part. I'm not great at identifying plants by comparing photos, especially trees ... it just reminded me of the Red Cedar but I don't even know if that tree grows in your area. Hopefully others will chime in here with suggestions. Smiling

No definite conclusion so I'm still looking for an ID. I didn't realize I had posed the question back in June. Blame it on age.

But I wonder if Western Juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) would grow in Long Island, N.Y. where Arlene lives?
