A colleague sent me this picture and asked if I knew what it was. I don't so I'm hoping someone here knows. Smiling

The Potentilla I linked to is Potentilla paradoxa, the description fits but it's difficult to say without flowers.

Leaves are alternate along the branches, the lower stem leaves are pinnately compound, 2 to 3 inches long.

The 7 to 11 oblong to oval leaflets have coarsely toothed edges, the tips blunt or rounded, the surfaces soft from short, fine hairs (pubescent). Leaves are smaller as they ascend the stem, becoming 3-parted

Potentilla canadensis has 5 leaves whorled at the stem end Lin.
