Orientals & crosses have suffered this month in scorching temperatures and lack of rainfall. In spite of this, my favorite and arguably nicest Oriental is coming through it all with little suffering and damage. They are all suffering to some degree from heat stress!
The fabled "Casa Blanca"; I can never tire of this plant!

"Journeys End" (NOT Star Gazer) Created & Hybridized By Dr. J. S. Yeates, Manawatu, New Zealand. His son, Mr. G Yeates has asked to use some
of my pictures in a book he is writing. I would like to quote one of his comments here from an e-mail I have from him, "My father, Dr J S Yeates, bred
Journey's End and many other lilies. Several of his clones are known for their resistance to disease and their persistence; so it is interesting to note
that you have grown it for 10 years." He is right: It is very disease resistant, and seems to come through all weather conditions. These are pictures
from Tuesday, July 19, 2010. Mr. Yeates e-mail was dated December 3, 2010.
