It is Bush Honeysuckle (Lonicera tatarica) , an extremely invasive shrub/tree in eastern Nebraska.

So glad Kent popped in with the exact ID. It sure is pretty ....

Sighing! it's a shame such a beautiful plant is so invasive!

Thanks for the replies! I live in Nebraska, and must say, I am glad it invaded this yard, it is the pride and joy of my yard because it is the only tree I have that is pretty. It is huge, very tall, and flowers a lot. We had four Mulberry bush trees we cut down, now those to me were invasive. Anyway, glad to know now what this tree is!

The invasive nature of the plant may not be obvious in your own yard, but when birds feed they deposit the seeds elsewhere and this plant can/does threaten the native species. The fruits are mildly toxic and can cause some birds to become intoxicated. As beautiful as it is, you may consider eventually replacing it with something gentler and better for birds and other animals. Lovey dubby
