This is what it looks like right now after coming through winter. I got it from Edelweiss Perennials. He has some very nice alpine plants. http://www.edelweissperennials.com/large_image.aspx?CommonPl...
Can you post a photo of yours so we can compare?

Apline plants Lynn. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I thought my eyes were crossing.

It's not bad enough that ya'll keep adding beautiful planters and plants to this obsession of mine, I just read an article on Succulents by Debra Baldwin and saw photos of her plantings of them in her yard. Mercy. I went to sleep wondering where I could place my new ones, that I am wanting to order. Whistling

Yes , you are indeed an enabler Blue. I just finished re studying your post on the Styrofoam planters. My son has a lot of electronic boxes that have the styrofoam so I will be cleaning out his closet to get it all. And then of course, I will have to buy more plants to fill them. Whistling

I think you are right Jacki, she's got it bad. Now she is one of us. Big Grin

We all need a good reason to do some house cleaning, I think your above reason is great.
Now that you are ready to think about more plants (in the alpine category) check out Wild Ginger Farm and Edelweiss. I am sure some of you have some other great suggestions for alpine nurseries?

Here is an example of another alpine plant Debbie. Jacki I'm sure you have some examples at your great nursery for those Canadian plant lovers. Thumbs up

Yes, and she never answers me when I mention it. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing As if she could give us special consideration. I know Lynn, let's take a trip up there and then maybe we can bring some home with us. Boy, that would be some expensive plants wouldn't it.

This lovely Saxifraga was photographed this spring at Wild Ginger Farm. Good thing I don't live close to this place. I wouldn't have money for food and such. Such a wonderful place to spend a day plant shopping. She has many varieties of Saxifraga.

I have a bed of A. sarmentosa that is amazingly thick, 4'x4' and the most amazing mass of pink in the Spring. The flowers completely cover the foliage.

Kate you just made my heart sing at the thought of this tiny new plant some day becoming a mass of pink blooms. I can't wait for next spring. This is a new plant for me.

Kate maybe you can answer my question. I have one called Androsacea draba. I am finding confusion on this plant, is it related to, or the same as, a Draba?

What other alpine plants do you have. We would love it if you could post photos of them.

I love that plant Tabby. Can you tell me what the plant is growing to the left of it? With the thick, shiny leaves.

Can't answer that one - I just do not know the answer. I have a half dozen sorts of creeping thymes, a spectacular creeping golden oregano, lovely rockery Campanulas (C. rotundifolia, C. cochleariifolia, C. poscharskyana, C. glomerata acaulis), some lovely small sedums (S. fosterianum 'Silver Stone', S. nevii 'Silver Frost', S. glaucophyllum), Hebe 'Karl Teschner' (supposedly not at all hardy here, but usually comes back and if it doesn't, it seeds all over the place), Gentiana septemfida var. lagodechiana (please do not ask me to pronounce some of these), Ajuga cristata (formerly a. ‘metallica crispa’). There is more, and I'd love to post pix, but am having trouble with the pix uploading tonight.

Hope the photo upload gets straightened out, I would love to see more photos.
Do you find the rockery Campanulas to be invasive Kate. Or do you keep them confined? I love them and have a few different ones.
I love my creeping Wooly Thyme. Nothing seems to bother it and it will grow over the top of a pot and down several fee to the ground in a dense wall of soft, fuzzy leaves.
