Very interesting indeed. It hasn't come out yet (publication date of February 28), so we'll have to wait another month or two before we can read reviews of it. Martha Stewart has already seen it, however:

“Peter’s ratings for fragrance, flowers, and disease resistance make it easy to choose the right rose for your garden. I wish I had this when I planted my rose garden twenty-five years ago. I am now about to plant another garden, full of wonderful rose varieties and I intend to follow Peter's advice wholeheartedly."

Over the last 2 years, I have purchased many of my roses based on the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden 2013 rose list. I have had great success with this selection. Therefore I will be buying this book written by Peter. Margie, NY

Overstock has it listed for 14.05, while it's 15.05 at Amazon. Hmmm. Maybe it will go down more before the 28th?
Wish I could look at it before buying. I'll definitely be taking it to the March Rose Society meeting! This year, I'm program chair, so for at least 1 meeting, we'll discuss organic growing methods. Every year, we invite a university " " " expert" " " who touts one chemical after another. Over and over. He even promotes insecticides that were banned 10 years ago.
Many of our members have no-spray gardens, so this book should be well received.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Margie!

Cindi ...

Have you read Liz Druitt's book The Organic Rose Garden ? It was published in 1996. It's one of my favorite rose books.

I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.

No, I don't have that one, but since you recommend it, I'll get it from Amazon. Thanks! I tip my hat to you.
