The dark colored foliage and the slightly ruffled leaves make this a really striking plant. It does not make a particularly good herb to cook with because of the dark color, but can be quite delicious and attractive when used in salads or to garnish a dish.

It does tend to bleed some of it's color onto whatever you are cooking. However, it is lovely sprinkled over your finished dish, or chopped up into salads.
