Your photos really show off both immature and mature leaf forms. Thumbs up Thumbs up Are these naturalized or cultivated?

Hi Evan!

The plants are naturalized in the Wa'a Wa'a Kipuka.

Photos from the Kipuka were used several years ago, where the late Steve Lucas and I presented information to John Weirsma of GRIN (USDA Plants) to show a distinct difference between E. aureum & E. pinnatum. That prompted GRIN to list the plants as separate species.

The Kipuka houses many native plants, Polynesian introductions, modern introductions, and aliens.

A hui hou aloha, Dave

Well done. There's enough confusion with all the different common names.

Are those naturalized A. andraeanum hubrids? Nice to see such large specimens even though they are invaders.

The Wa'a Wa'a Kipuka is in Lower Puna.

Pu'u Wa'a Wa'a is on the other side of the Island above Kona, it is a native plant preserve.

The Anthuriums are in my garden.

Aloha, Dave
