Thong sandals year around. These are NOT the same as flip-flops. As close to barefoot as one can get with a sole on the bottom of the foot. Even have stripes on my feet matching my garden "soles" from a tan on the rest of my feet. Kind of like bathing suit marks. Cannot bear to have my feet enclosed.

I need to add that while barefoot is my preferred style, I have flip flops at the door for walking on the asphalt here in Phoenix...and while gardening near stickers!

I'm barefoot in the house except in winter when I wear socks. Outside I'm in clogs for gardening. For going out and about, I am in my SAS sandals or other SAS shoes. I started wearing them years ago when I got painful heel syndrome from wearing cheap thin-soled sandals. The SAS have a thick, cushioney sole that protects my heels. I too have tan lines from the 3 straps that go across my foot.

Barefoot around the house, crocs or sandals outside. I used to go barefoot outside, too, when I lived up north. I even used to run out to take the clothes off of the line in the snow barefooted! (Taking clothes down doesn't take as much time as hanging them up. Hilarious! ) Down here, though, there are too many Grumbling fire ants, so I wear shoes in the garden.

Always Dahliafeets for extra grippery and nimblery; sensory measurement of dew, soil dryness, foliage texture and mathimatical measurement of length (who needs the other guys feets when 1 dahliafoot= an exactamundo 10 inches). I also wear dahliafeets for fleetness of feets which is necessary for running really fast when you throw a mudpie at your tru luv Big Grin

Thanks for the fabby new feature Trish Thumbs up

Barefoot in the summer as much as possible....I hate to admit it, but I insist upon having at least a small patch of "barefoot lawn" in our backyard. Nothing feels better in the summer than walking barefoot through thick, cool grass. Barefoot in the house in the summer, as well.

Unfortunately, they don't let me go to work barefoot, and our office is usually too cold to even wear open-toed shoes Thumbs down

My heart is with barefoot, but usually wear my beat-up tennies, loosely laced so I can just slip them on, in the garden... After spending the last 15 years working at home doing med. transcription and not having to wear shoes, I don't quite know what I'd do if I had to get a job on the "outside." I've been known to go for short distances barefoot outside in the winter, but I think I'm losing my toughness as I get older. Like AnjL, never have been able to do flip-flops, but crocs are now indispensable! Have to say, my feet don't look the best anymore, it seems that the years of wear and tear have taken a toll!

I love the feel of snow on bare feet! I don't wear anything on my feet unless it's not safe to be barefoot. Sandals by the door. Shoes only when required by certain outdoor work, at church, and at work (hospital regulations). I'll agree with Dave that when my feet are happy, I'm happy, but that only happens when they're free!

My kids would go everywhere barefoot if they could; it's a struggle to make them put on shoes.

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.
