Ok, I meant to get this tread going yesterday, but stuff happens!

My concentration here is on a lesser known East coast hybridizer; J. Griffin (Griff) Crump

I have been to his garden several times (but not enough) over the last three years or so. He does his work near Mt. Vernon in Virginia in yard smaller than mine, and I consider my 1/3 of an acre small! He has put out a bunch this year and there is one in particular that is amazing. But you all need to wait to see the pictures here rather than running off and looking for yourselves. We need to pace ourselves for this long Winter (according to the rodent from upstate PA). First up is one I already posted, "At The Prom"

So this is all and everything "Crump". Please post your favs and their growing habits! But do so in the "color" order that we are following in the other "big" thread. This means show and talk about your Red and /or White Crump irises!

Well -- I wanted to do my part to make that happen -- so I went to my database to see how many Crump Irises I have. Found a big fat zero. Not one.

I have Irises by many relatively unknown hybridizers, but no Crump Irises. I wonder why.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the ones that you post, Greg.

Most small time hybridizers don't get the coverage they deserve. They tend to be regional at best, especially if they not from the west coast. Then there is time and space in order to make this all happen. No so easy to do.

I'm sorry to say I don't have any Crump irises either. I will enjoy seeing the ones you post Greg!

I have two. Carefree Days, which would be in the peach/orange and Prince Igor which would be in the ......? reds?

My MOST favorite Crump iris "Tessie The Tease". She is bright and cheerie (she looks better in person than in pictures!). For me, she is not a tease. Griff named her a "tease" because for him, she would start to open and then seem to stop; seemingly as if she was being bashful.

I'm liking Hypnotist -- what nice, clean lines!!

I know have "her" in four different locations in the garden. She is a great grower!

I so am on that list for Blackbeard's Daughter when and if you get enough Greg.

I am looking forward to seeing Tessie bloom, hopefully this spring. I believe she is my only Crump.

Blackbeard's Daughter is an amazing iris. It did not bloom for me last year, so I should see my maiden bloom shortly (Rain/sleet/freezing rain/snow flurries forecast for today). I must be dreaming!
