I haven't anything with sugar in it and flushed my body out with water for two days.
I feel much better already and I don't feel depressed right now. Most importantly when I'm happy not depressed. I don't feel the need to buy plants or seeds to cheer me up. Thumbs up

Also I plan to turn all my succulents into miniature to about medium size bonsai on shelves.

Adam that will be so pretty!!! For me the problem has been that I'll get plants because I'm feeling down, and then I feel better and then if I feel down again, its hard for me to maintain the care of the plant, then it starts NOT thriving, and I feel more depressed! Since becoming more aware of this about myself, I've really pushed to keep maintaining my plants, even when I'm feeling low! Its been a challenge, but this winter its been working for me! Thumbs up Best to you
I tip my hat to you.

I'm with you, Greg. You've got to push yourself to maintain those plants when you're down. It's hard for me in the winter because I get SAD. But staying busy and maintaining a care routine has really been helpful. I've lost fewer plants this winter, even with all the family crisis that kept coming up, than I've lost in years past. Staying informed about what's happening with me and learning from you guys has helped me a lot. It helps me to stay balanced and enjoy my gardening.

Deebie that is so similar to me! Although I did lose many outdoor plants because of so much rain this year Sad For a while I wasn't even able to post on ATP (about a month or so) Feeling better now and I only have minimal losses of indoor plants, it does make me feel better that I didn't lose much! A gauge of my energy level! Whistling I tip my hat to you.

@Planto, yep I lost 65 different types because I didn't "get it together" to go and cover them up (I have most of my semps at a friend's place about a mile away, so its easy to feel like its too far or whatever Thumbs down ) But this spring has been some amazing colorations (from the ones left!) so its been truly amazing! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Wow nice new Euphorbias Adam! Caution though..it looks to me those containers are way too wide for it, I would move it to smaller ones, it takes longer to dry media indoors. The media you used is okay, looks fast draining enough. They grow really slow, but likes more water when it gets warm. They enjoy our mid 80's to high 90's during summer with frequent watering outdoors..

Hope u are feeling upbeat today, Adam! I'm fascinated by the connection you've made between sugar & your mood. Hope it leads you to more optimistic days!

Adam, nice to have friends with plants. The Doc gave me the same plants last year and they are doing great. He's such a nice guy. He gave me lots of square nursery pots to replant my seedlings in. I gave him some plants as well. And I got some seedlings with his name on them. Maybe he will come over to our forums here. They changed so much on the other site.

Adam, hoping you are feeling well today. Will you forgive me if I say the Dioscorea mexicana is a bit homely at this stage. Hilarious! But I googled it and see it makes a lovely plant. Hurray! I will hope to see yours growing its nice leaves soon. It does not look like a cactus.

It's actually a species of yam(dioscorea is the genus of yams) that forms a caudex and the leaves are nice too. I love fat plants. nodding

Also I keep haveing trouble with my blood sugar going too low.

Adam I've found that eating small meals regularly or frequent snacking on nutritious foods will help stabilize your blood sugar and your moods. Never skip a meal and don't substitute sugary foods for a meal, like coffee and doughnuts for breakfast. You've got some of the most interesting plants. Thumbs up

Dioscorea bulbifera, "air potato", is a horrible invasive here in FL. Stripped of that offense, however, it's pretty neat. Its grows its caudex in the air, hanging, drops it, and a new plant grows on the ground. It's really cute and attractive when the caudex erupts the plant growth, but then turns into this habitat-gorging vine monster. The one here in FL is toxic, but the one in West Africa is edible. It can grow 8 inches per day!!!
