Isn't that crazy when a plant can grow that much!! You probably really could "watch it growing"

I haven't posted in a while because I'm going though a major depression Sighing! and other stuff like moving again.

I've decided on what plants I'm going to keep this has slimmed my collection down to 111 from over 200. I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the plants I'm not going to keep.

Sorry you've been down, and glad you popped in to say hi today! Hope your move will be a positive factor for you. Is it across town, or more long distance?

I might encourage you to consider grouping plants together, rather than parting with them. If you can see 'dirt' in your pots, there's space.

4 kinds of plants in a pretty small pot:

I have a bunch of them, but this should give you an idea. As they grow at various rates, sometimes partnerships need to be adjusted, but I absolutely refused to stop collecting new plants just because I ran out of room for new pots in the house. No way! If the preference for light & moisture are in the same range, I companionize. Have had nothing but great results! For the symmetry-obsessed, this might not be as aesthetically pleasing, but that's the only negative I've encountered.

I don't want to do that right now purple because I grow alot of fat plants and I want them to have space to grow into nice
specimen plants first. I will then decide if I want to put companion plants with them in bonsai pots. But I'm not sure what I want to do yet.

I can relate, and hope that eventually a lot of my plants that are currently companions will be too big for that. But that is an issue for tomorrow, today is today. None of my groups are intended to be permanent except some of the succulents maybe. Taking cuttings might be a way to save some of your larger plants. I've moved many times, and in retrospect, I don't miss any of the other stuff I've left behind over the years much, if at all, but I do miss the plants.

If you do decide you're unable to keep some of them, maybe a botanical garden, university, or nursing home would enjoy having them.

What a great idea Tiffany. Adam, if you can, find a nursing home and volunteer and offer to help the residents to care for their new plants. Could help you helping others. Also gives you a chance to take some back or give new ones. Most residents there get no visitors and are very lonely. You would be doing Gods work as well. Hurray!

I got my order from out of africa today.
I ordered a Pachypodium densiflorum and Pachypodium densiflorum var brevicalyx. But there were two plants in the brevicalyx pot and I only paid 4.00 for them. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Here are some pictures.

A few more of the gypsophila seeds have begun to sprout roots. I spouted a pack last year I kept messing with them and only two sprouted then died because I got depressed and neglected them. I'm going to take better care of this batch.

I'm starting Dorstenia gypsophila from seed because even small ones are expensive, because I like to grow plants from seeds or get them young as possible so I can shape them, and because it's a neat looking plant.

I moved one of my small tables back in my room so I could spread out my plants some. I put all my aloes and some others that didn't fit into any of the major genus I have.

Here are some pictures.

I slim down my plant collection a little bit so I would have a work space on my main table. Also so I would have fewer plants to water.

Here are some pics.
