Here in Central Texas, it starts getting pretty warm ... well, yesterday unseasonably warm at 81 degrees. It will cool down again, but by early March I'll probably have to get my plants out of the GH entirely. We have lots of deer.

We are attaching a 2nd 6 x 8 GH to the existing one, and I'm wondering about screening the 2nd one, but putting the polycarb panels in the roof. So the plants could stay in there just a bit longer (and if it suddenly drops and freezes which occasionally happens) I could quickly put up solar pool cover on the walls.

Do you think this idea would work?

I can't see why it wouldn't -- sounds like a good idea to me!

I think it actually would work just fine.

That sounds very doable, Carol. If you had an extend period of cold you could probably supply a little heat.
