hello, i have some hippeastrums (and three amaryllis belladonna): splash(not confirmed), lemon lime, magic green, a noid double red(nod confirmed), red lion x self(5 seedlings), a white or light miniature(probably hadeco variety), and last but not least: hippeastrum reticulatum var. striatifolium(1 bulb and 1 clump of 3 of 4 bulbs, they have a pure white stripe, so probably not hybrids, but a natural variety)
and ordered 3 extra striped hippeastrum reticulatum. i hope those are hybrids, because that would make it easier to let it flower and hybridize further.

Thanks, i'm now waiting to get an flowering hippeastrum reticulatum so i can cross it with other hippeastrums. If that gives any viable seeds i will grow all of the ones with a stripe on the leaf

Indeed mcash, about 150 plants inside, and loads of plants outside: about 50 varieties of sempervivums, some colocasia's, some fuchsia's, and loads of other plants. I have 3 gardens, helped with designing about 12 gardens, and i am 17 years old.

Wow, that's pretty good for such a young gardener. May I ask if you are male or female?

Male, i am into plants for about 10 years already, and now almost only use english to get information about plants, because in dutch i can't get enough specific information about certain plants and plant genuses. Learned english mainly from reading on forums etc. and studied about plants for the past seven years. I am now also doing an experiment with cacti: trying to get a virus to become transgenic, by grafting onto a contaminated stock. So i really want to do something new, to create something. I also write poems, and now a little book Smiling

Your English is very good and it's obvious you were born to grow and work with plants. Do you have plans to become a botanist in the future? I bet you would make a good one.

Well, my specialty is to reproduce plants, i have even propagated two roses by keeping them in water outside all year long(that was because i had a bet with someone that i could do it). I think i am also interested in plants because my grandpa was a real plant lover. And i always like to really think about the nature of things, to think about everything on the next level.
