One thing is certain about winter in Wisconsin – it’ll never be the same two years in a row.

Thanks all! It certainly is beautiful. Winters can be long and brutal but at least they look magical.

Luckily the one coming through today is mostly south of us. We'll probably just get an inch or two out of it.

Chris, your winter garden is stunning. All of that snow and ice is foreign to me and I can't imagine enduring snow and ice for five or six month stretches but as I sit here with doors and windows open enjoying our current mild Florida temperatures, I find your Wisconsin scenery very different and so very pretty! I love the Blue Spruce and that shrub covered in ice! The photos of hoar frost are very interesting as well and all of your pictures show the beauty of winter nature. Thanks for sharing the view of your lovely winter garden. Thumbs up

Thanks for all the kind comments, thumbs up and acorns. If I could send each of you a few days of winter without damaging your gardens I would love to do so. It really is something everyone should experience at least one in their lives. But since I can't, enjoy all the beautiful warm weather you're having as I have serious zone envy right now!!! Hilarious!

Chris, LOL ... I grew up on the coast of Va. where we did get snow once in awhile in the winter but not a lot. Florida is currently warm (72ºF here in Daytona Beach at the moment) but tomorrow night is supposed to drop to freezing! We have had winter temps drop into the 20's in the past but luckily it doesn't last long when that happens! I always say if it has to be cold we should at least get to experience snow but so far that hasn't happened here in this part of Fla. We did get ice one year awhile back and I made a little ice man and sat him on the brick wall in front of our house ... where it melted within 24 hours. Rolling on the floor laughing

Great pictures and story, I clearly remember that May snow storm, as I had a foal born outside in it that I found that morning. Named him Stormy.
