My peonies seemed to be having problems last summer. I went out at night and discovered root weevils. What's the best way to get rid of them?

I did a quick check of root weevils and one of the recommended treatments was the systemic pesticide Imidacloprid which is used to treat for the iris borer. It is absorbed into the roots and carried upward to the stems and leaves. Look for the Bayer label in almost any home garden store. It could kill both the larvae eating the roots and the chewing adults eating the leaves.

Is a root weevil the same as nematodes. The fellow at the local BG said they have trouble with nematodes on their peonies. Well, in the ground.
