I love the way this picture draws one into the background. I feel as if I am standing under the silhouette of the tree and being warmed by the glow of the horizon.

Thank you Vickie. It would take a lot of warmth this morning. It is very cold here at 7F. (Wind chill is -10F)
Here is a picture of the same tree on January 14, 2015. Very frosty. Hoping everyone stays warm today!

That is pretty cold! We hit 1F yesterday. This morning it is 14F and we have about 6-7 inches of snow. As much as I love pictures of winter, snow, and hoarfrost, I will be so glad when it is gone!

In your picture, it definitely looks cold, but yet there is a warmth to it.

Beautiful photos, Leon. I feel drawn in just as Vickie said. It's a quiet, comfortable place to be.

Vickie, I was watching Indianapolis TV at noon, and I think you got more bad weather than me this time. Our bad storm was Saturday (Valentine Day). It was almost like a blizzard up here. But I noticed most of the snow this week was south of Indy into all of KY. I think we can say Boston has had it worse than anyone this year! Sad Bright color in a winter scene does warm things up quite a bit. Guess that's why I like Christmas so much! Smiling

Arlene, Hope you are having good weather. But I am doubtful after watching the weather channel. Yes, that apple tree serves a lot of good purposes. We keep a bird feeder on one branch, and a suet block too. It attracts a lot of birds all year long.

Stay warm both of you & Thanks for posting!

In reality, we have had 24" of snow, much less than the 55" we had at this time last year. It's just that it keeps coming so constantly and builds upon what is there already. For two nights recently the winds at night kept us awake. I do enjoy looking out while it's snowing and enjoy the clean look of the gardens but the glare from the snow does hurt my eyes. The icicles are so interesting and eventually I'll get them on my photo program.

How true! The sun is so blinding on the snow that I need to keep the blind down near the computer to see what I'm doing. I wear sunglasses outside.

I agree Leon. Mother Nature doesn't want us to forget what she's capable of! Smiling
