Probably look different because they're fresh and the air is moist...and maybe this is from one shrub I didn't post last year....

This is the second flower pic taken today (rainy): (the fragrance can be sensed only in full bloom)
Thumb of 2015-12-10/fiat/b30c26

It's a small flower in a big plant:

Thanks, I hope next year there are full of blooms all over the plant. And I don't have to keep very close to be able to smell the wonderful fragrance.

If you want lots of blooms next year, don't prune it unless you prune immediately after it finishes blooming. Any pruning after that date will diminish the number of next year's blooms.

Zuzu, how so? I thought pruning will make it grow more? (maybe just leaves and branches?) And I saw my neighbor prune her red camellia often times (keep in form especially top) last year, now all hers have many many buds/flowers... but I really don't know about this, and I actually don't like to prune it and would like it to grow taller... Hmm, maybe I will selectively cut off some tightly squeezing branches after finishing blooming (is this the day of withering of the last flower? mine just slowly open one flower a time... )

Pruning does stimulate growth, but it also cuts off the buds that will bloom next year. Tht's why you have to prune early, before those buds start forming.

I really like my first camellia -- the second flower is now fully open and becomes very pink!

I'm not a 'pink' bloom person but that's really pretty! As are your blooms Sherry!

Pretty! I've never tried to grow them here, and have seen very few. We had them in Corona del Mar when I was a kid, and they do well there.
