Tthought I'd list some of the plants I received at the Mid-South RU last weekend. I'm still planting them....slowly. It's hot already, and we have had snails and pill bugs like never before. And I guess now a possum is digging up my backyard looking for grubs and worms.....

Adeline brugmansia
Autumn Treasure brug
First Belle brug
Rhapsody brug
Purple coneflower
Var. iris
Var. Parrot lily

Minnie Pearl phlox
Pink phlox

Oh my goodness...........................all I can say is,.........thank you,...thank you....thank you.......I will no longer need to feel guilty about the piddly amount I was bringin' home.....I only have ONE truckload........ Rolling my eyes. .... Big Grin

Isn't it fun / exciting to get a bunch of new & interesting plants?.....to study them as you pot them up.....to learn what they need (or don't need - often enough)

Well,....I must confess....I'm a bit jealous.....lookin' at that list....I mean....you have a whole forest of Monarda...to begin with... Big Grin
they all look good & healthy too!

Did "whats-his-name" hafta walk home? Whistling
God Bless America!

The girls teased him about tracking me so I wouldn't buy too much.

At DY, I did find a 3 gallon Pineapple Guava for $7. and a 3 gal. Rosy-Glo Barberry that was $5. And I also bought a dark blue plumbago, and that was about it. But.....I know the way there now...and I'm going to go back....with a list, a long list.... Smock and Smockette went off to find liners. She wasn't as impressed with Doug Young's wholesale prices, but she was only there a few minutes and didn't go to the greenhouses. She was looking for stuff to resell.

If the snails don't eat everything I've planted out front, I'll be glad to share the monardas. I understand they need to be corralled or they take over. I wanted something for the butterflies, bees, and the hummers. We're on the flyway for the Monarchs. They come right up the street,.. literally. A few yrs ago, they were hanging on the trees all piggy-back. They looked like leaves...hundreds of 'em. They were on the way back to Mexico, trying to beat a cold front in October. After the winter freeze, I didn't have anything for them to eat on the migration back north this year.

I'm not familiar with Doug Young ....I recall the name but that's it. wow - great prices on the Guava & Barberry

We're havin' problems with the snails this year, too.....I've come to enjoy removing them....... almost as much fun as "removing" fire ant mounds.

Monarchs - another fascinating wonder of Nature........you're reminded every year....you lucky dogs!! I'm sure it was difficult for them as they returned to find so much gone across a wide area
God Bless America!

Doug Young's was the first nursery we went to. They had over 200 acres of plants and trees, but "only 150 acres open to the public." If you were a Master Gardener, you could buy wholesale. All the plants in this photo were 3 gal. for $5.85. They put a selection of stock up front so people didn't have to trek down to the greenhouses or fields to find them. When the rest of the group arrived it was like watching a feeding frenzy! They had fun!!!

This was part fo my stash at Jeri's. Most of the plants I took are on the table in the foreground. Had to check 'em off and put them in nice rows....

Welcome! Glad you found us. And you're right, it's taking me a while to get all those planted. I'm still working on it... and battling the bugs! I thought the big freezes we had this winter would have killed everything. Instead, it just made 'em stronger!

Wish the freeze would have taken all these dang skeeters! They are so bad this year. Last nights 7 inches of rain did not help any either!
