Portulaca/moss roses are the earliest flower I remember from my childhood. Back then they were all singles in my memory. Fast forward and these days it seems they are all doubles. Does anyone have a good source for single varieties, seed or live plants? I would love to grow some again! Thank You!

Hi there and Welcome!

I find the singles in seed packets in places like Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot. I'm thinking google might be able to help you as well?

The Toucan Hot Mix look to be single here:

I rarely see double here In Phoenix...except for the portulaca.

Purslane abounds here in the summer...all single blooms. Some of the best were found at Target when they had garden nurseries.

P. grandiflora has the double blooms. P. umbraticola (sold as ornamental purslane) has single blooms.

The Toucan mix at the link is P. umbraticola.
