James...what did you get for a bonus

With what arrived today...

Blueberry Season and Shakespeare's Red from the Trimmers
Must Be The Feeling and Etched In Stars from Nicole

And some from Michele - Lillian's Alabama Pride is one - I didn't write the others as I was only expecting a single box today based on previous shipping times and I was rushing to get back to work.

My Hall order is set to ship may 1st so I guess I won't see bloom on them this year unless they rebloom. That is one of the problems with ordering from Florida. But I still do it because I want those cultivars I can't find elsewhere.

Wish I had the type of orders coming in some of you do ( Green Grin! green with envy!). Post pictures so I can drool please!

Im not ordering again for spring shipping. Even living in FL, I just got my lilies from FL. Its just to late....to hot. If I could get my lilies when the Lambertsons ship..it would be fantastic. There are three sellers I always buy from, they usually have the new intros in the fall. All of their plants were on the poor side this year. Could just be what I ordered I certainly feel a bit stupid bragging about getting cheap plants. I got what I paid for. My ATP sellers Fred and Michelle came thru tho! Well...everyone came thru...Im sure its not their fault that about some smaller plants. Im more bummed about the late shipping. No worries, Ill enjoy what I get and already have something to look forward to next year.

I also live in zone 8b, I do hope you will post pictures and the progress of the plants you received this year, I would find that very interesting.

Pam, I always order in the fall. Most times the plants are smaller then because they expend so much energy blooming, plus the days are getting shorter. I never have a problem with the smaller plants bulking up over the winter. I do fertilize quite a bit!

O I dont mind the smaller plants, the bigger ones shrink a little anyway. That was just an observation from this year, maybe the weather. Its getting all already scaped plants that I would change if I could.

I was told that the big gardens were impacted the same way mine was last year. It was awful! Bloom season was delayed into May and the weather was still cool then it got hot overnight. The plants aborted a lot of blooms and seemed to be unprepared for the heat. I guess since it was so fast to go from cool to hot, they had trouble adapting. By the end of the summer, the plants looked like they had been run over! If I did not know better, I would have pulled every stinking daylily out and said good bye.

It motivated me to redo all 8 daylily boxes in the late fall and the daylilies are now back on their feet and looking great. This year seems to be the opposite of last yr. Thank heavens! My orders usually come in from November to January. Obviously, this forces me to use FL sellers. I just buy from a few different sellers but usually the plants look good.

Good luck with your late deliveries. Can you pot them up and keep them in the shade?

O my word. Well Im about down to my last 6 or 7 to plant, and I just cant seem to get those in. I will need to mix up one more big batch of mix today, and then I hope that will do it until fall seedling planting. Im getting tired, and nothing is going to bloom anyway this year. Boy am I going to live vicariously thru everyone else planting now nodding

Well here in UK I don't have the advantage (or temptation) of being able to buy new introductions. However I am expecting some plants from Belgium in the next few weeks. I won 2 on eBay, Freaky Good & Annabrooke Heatherly and also bought Voila Francois, Don't Touch That and Wispy Rays. Also from my friend Jennie Sivyer I am getting English Skies, Sunday Sandals, Tickle My Fancy AND (oh joy of joys) Rose F Kennedy. As an unexpected bonus I found a new UK seller who had a DF of Magic of Oz which of course I jumped at. MOO arrived Tuesday & was planted yesterday, cant wait for the rest!

I had a 15% discount voucher with Magic of Oz and the seller has Paul Sain's Prize. I must say I am very tempted.

Fingers too big for my phone keyboard 😊

@Kidfishing,

Love O'Bannon springs! We visited Steve Williams last year and loved seeing his intros as well as buying several daylilies for great prices (and they were huge clumps). I got O'Bannon Orchid and Adavier last year -he was so generous i had enough to share with several friends in my daylily club. Plan on going there again this year Thumbs up and I want to get Double Magnolia Lovey dubby

I didn't order many new things this Spring but Annette Rice did just send out a huge 4 fan clump of White Eyes Pink Dragon. I placed it near Isabelle Rose. Hoping they both will bloom for me this year!

I have about 10 more coming from 3 other sellers.

Bee Kind, make the world a better place.

Hi, my name is James, and I am an addict. Let's see if I can remember what has arrived since I last posted...

Orders from:
Mary Gaskins
Steve Todd
John DeMory
Floyd Cove
Mark Carpenter
Tom Polston
Tim Bell
Pat Stamile

That's the bulk of the deliveries I have coming. The rest are a few plants each except my order from Mike Grossmann at Northern Lights - he had some great prices on Mahieu plants. Whistling
