This sempervivum is so glorious and there are many great pictures of it.
But this picture just brings out the delicacy and translucent beauty.
I tried to grow it one season but it did not survive. Sad Sad

Marilyn, I just found this post. I'm sorry to hear it did not make it for you. I know when I got it, the first year was really difficult to keep it alive. After that it seems to have thrived. Maybe you should give it another try? Smiling

I am trying to assess what I will do in May (not before Mother's day) and will see if I can figure out just where to put them so they will have a chance to thrive.

I will also see what I have out there. I may beg some specific ones from you. I am still hoping for a Proud Zelda from you and the Shrubby Milkwort (polygala Chamaebuxus) we discussed in the past. And perhaps a bit of the horny goat plant (can't remember the other name for it now) which might be the answer to ground
cover under the tree.

If If, IF I follow Carole's plan it will mean most of my Semps will go on the patio.

The new plan calls for a lot of different plants.
with HY Hydrangea, C red Coral bells, SE dragons blood sedum, H Hosta, mo Gold Moneywort, CV creeeping Veronica, FE ostrich or cinnamon fern, Impatiens , Coleus and moss rock with pavers too.
Suggested drip system attached to HOA sprinkler head and new area of groundcover under the tree.
A possible bench out there too.

Have taken in no further, I may call the recommended Landscape firm for an estimate ... 2 or 3 phases over a couple of years

Epimedium (horny goat weed). Green Grin!
The above plane sounds like it will be lovely. A great place to sit and enjoy tough plants that are beautiful. If you containers on the patio have enough depth for the semps I would think they would do well. Shallow containers will take to much maintenance.
I really like the idea of keeping with really tough plants, a lot less stress on the gardener.

Semps will be waiting for you when you are ready for them. Group hug
