We currently have 3 database entries for Salvia roemeriana. There is one for the species, one for 'Hot Trumpets', and one for 'Red Dwarf'.

Roemer's Sage (Salvia roemeriana)
Cedar Sage (Salvia roemeriana 'Hot Trumpets')
Salvia (Salvia roemeriana 'Red Dwarf')

I know nothing about 'Red Dwarf', but I've grown both the species and plants labeled as 'Hot Trumpets'. They were identical and I'm pretty sure the moniker 'Hot Trumpets' is just a cutesy marketing name attached to the species to increase sales. I suspect the same may be true for 'Red Dwarf'.

I'll call the experts Rich & Kermit for their opinion. I know Kermit just loves cutesy marketing names. Hilarious!

In addition, there are unlikely differences in the minimum hardiness zones marked for the species (10a) and Hot Trumpets (7a). That seems suspicious. The entry for Red Dwarf has no plant data.

The species should be marked as hardy to zone 7 as well. I've had reseeders that popped up in 4 inch pots that sailed through the winter here on the cusp of 7b/8a. Although it's not lethal, they aren't terribly fond of the summer heat here and shift into cleistogamous mode (which is annoying.) I can fill in some more data later.

I marked it 7a to match the cultivar (which may not be a cultivar, but we'll see about that). If it's actually 7b, that can be fixed later.
