OK -- this thread is titled *Beardless* -- and will incorporate all of the following categories: Siberians, Spuria, PCI's, Cristata, Tectorum and Dutch iris as well as the Louisiana's, Japanese and Flatties.

I have a picture of my one NOID that would fall into this category, but a quick search did not locate it. So this thread will have to be posted without a photograph. Sighing!

I have a few Siberian photos, but while they are on a disc, it is not in the computer as yet. I suggest looking at jpwflowers.com for great entertainment.

I only have one for this series. Louisiana Black Gamecock. It was a gift and one of my favorites.

Alright -- found a picture. It's not a great shot, but you can see what it is that I have!

I have 2 spurias which haven't bloomed yet, so I'll look for the photos on wiki. I'm afraid that when I see them bloom, that 2 will turn into several. Green Grin!

(edited to say I was laughing at Mary Ann's phone comment)

Well -- waddya know -- I have a Louisiana Black Gamecock!! Cool!! It takes care of itself -- lives in a shady low spot on the property -- and blooms just about the time that my TB's are finishing up. The root system is interesting -- it *travels* -- that's the only way I can describe it. Long long long segmented rhizomes (are they called rhizomes?) and they grow leaves and bloom stalks at the end of the last segment. Is that how yours behaves Celia?

Those Spurias are real cute. Are they small?

Yeah Rob -- I'm technically challenged. Every time I have to learn a new phone or computer or TV or e-book -- it takes me forever to get comfortable with it. I have anxiety attacks over it!! Blinking

I have great hopes for the several spurias and Japanese that I planted last year, but right now the only beardless iris that I have a picture of is Bellender Blue, a JI:

Dutch iris, bloomed one year after planting, then came up another year, but never bloomed and then died out.

I have one other Sib that is a light violet color NOID, but I don't have any pictures of it
I also have a pink Japanese iris that is hanging on for 3 or 4 years, but hardly alive, and has never bloomed.
