Ferns grow here in abundance and while i always loved them i had never included them in my garden,..however one visit to the islands on our lake i spotted some baby Ferns and took some home,..one was Phyllitis scolopendrium,'Harts Tongue Fern',..which grew very well,..since then numerous Harts Tongue Ferns have appeared some have grown very big and to me look beautiful.
Two other Ferns i took home turned out completely different,..one grew pointing in all directions which i didn't like,..the other turned out to be Matteuccia struthiopteris,'Shuttlecock Fern',..now this one i love.
Philip, wow those are beautiful ferns! Is that gorgeous orange and yellow flowering plant in your last photo the Candy Corn Vine (Manettia luteorubra) ?

Hi Lin,
I really have come to love Ferns since i first introduced them into the garden,..great space fillers as well,..oh that plant you admired,..i have two from cuttings i took almost 15 years ago,..they are Cytisus scoparious,..'Scotch Broom',..they come in a few different colors but mine are the most vivid,..they are about 8ft tall.
