I live South Mississippi and have about 30 perennial hibiscus It gets cold enough that they die to the ground. I have one that I can not figure out. I know it is a hibiscus but it stays green all year long.It stays green in the winter but want start blooming until about the middle of April. It is rambling shrub type with small light maroon blooms with dark maroon center.

That would be interesting to have one green all winter.
I live in Indiana we get pretty cold and snow, but I have a Magnolia that stays the same green all year, I am always amazed.

Your hibiscus sounds intriguing! Could we have a picture of it please? I'd love to find a hardy hib that stays green all year round.

You can look on my facebook page and see it. I got seeds in a garden in Louisiana. It stays green all year but it will not bloom until it warms up. I cannot find anyone who knows what it is. There are a quite a few plants in my yard that I or no one else knows what they are. It took me 5 yrs for someone to identify my Senna shrub. My sister had a nursery for 35 yrs. and it drove her crazy, I put one seed pod in my pocket on trip to Mexico. It had 5 seeds and all came up. it also can be seen om fb page. I remeber geting the seeds of the hibiscus. I told my wife to go watch while I got a few seeds. She told me she was getting tired of being my front person while i steal seeds. I have always been able to get seeds to germinate.

The flower colour sounds a bit like Hibiscus acetosella.

My first thought was Rosa-sinensis also, but the rambling description didn't seem to fit. Itre could you give a link to your facebook page.

Yes, please see if anyone knows what it is. It is a beautiful rambling shrub that I have to keep trimmed. Plants have come up all over my yard. I don't know how to post it. It is on my facebook page Larry trest Richland, Ms. There is also a yellow woody shrub that I have that no one can identify. It has clusters of blooms like butterflybush. The bad part is I don't remember where it came from.

Checked all the suggestions, I have those, the one in my yard is not any I have ever seen.

I don't know anything about facebook, but I did go there and look and I found no pictures of hibiscus. Did anyone else find them?

Yes I know, I missed the post where he gave his name. I have looked all through his page and found no plants.

Go to my fb page, scroll down to the bottom, you will see a photo of my tree/bush morning glory, click on the photo, it will take you to all the flowers in my yard. There is a woody large yellow shrub that I wish someone could identify also.

I think posting those pics in the plant ID forum will give you a much, much better chance of getting them properly Identified, you'll get more response that way.

Ok, Larry I took a look and find no Hibiscus or maroon flower. I found one that I think you may be talking about and it is Morning Glory Tree (Ipomoea carnea)
As far as the yellow one is concerned, I think I know which one you are referring to but I don't know the name. It looks a lot like a Pentas, but I can't find a yellow cultivar. With your permission I can copy some of your photos from facebook over here and see if anyone can give us a name.

You are quite welcome to do that. When you click on the bush morning glory, continue through the series of flowers to you come to the hibiscus. The yellow shrub is a perennial and last year I had to cut back a lot. it had gotten really large and out of hand. I have a knack for getting things to grow but technical names I am not that good at. I leave that to my sister who has a nursery. It makes her mad cause I can grow things better than her. She has no idea either and she knows flowers. It took me 5 yrs to figure out the name of the Senna yellow shrub. A friend of hers from Ms. State University came to my house and he use to live in the Rio Grande valley of Texas so he knew. His first question , was where does your brother get all of thes strange plants. Her answer was, you dont even want to know.
