I got to hang out with Judi yesterday in Des Moines..................................what a treat! I know what you mean about finding homes for what I already have but I bet Marie is in a bigger deal..........she just counted what she still has in pots for hosta and it's over 400 named plants! Hilarious!

I am only 80ish named ones in pots...............never mind what will be in the mail soon. Rolling my eyes.

And yes the 1000+ seedlings I will be going through too Hilarious!

I am on a very tight city lot aren't I Collette? Big Grin

Wow - I thought my 50 hostas and just as many daylilies was bad. You make me feel better. Your plants are gonna be like sardines when you get them into the ground.
Sorry I missed you guys yesterday. I really had to get started in the yard. So much grass and so many weeds already out there.

Wow, I'm way behind. I have "only" 16 on order for this year and none in pots. I did send an email to Naylor Creek yesterday to see if they can ship my order at the end of April rather than the beginning of May, have not heard back from them yet. 15 of my 16 newbies are coming from them Thumbs up

This weekend I fertilized and started weeding. I also put slug bait under a few overturned plastic pots and "watered" the bait, targeting the areas that had the worst slug damage last year. That is a new tactic for me for 2010. Big Grin

I'm expecting an order from Naylor Creek next week as well (and I think I'll see if I can sneak a few extras on it.... *Blush* ).

The voles were so selective in what they took out, I'd think it was personal. Our favorite hosta last year was 'Roller Coaster Ride'. This year, it is no more. It has gone to plant heaven.... joined by 'Candy Dish'.

I have only a few on order this year. One of the Ontario nurseries had a two-day 20% off sale over the weekend. The same nursery has been tracking down a 'Liberty Bell' for me - but it didn't come last year. I had also asked them to hold a 'Vanilla Cream' since I have 3 sports from it. And the new ones I ordered are:
'Blue Ivory', 'Mouse Trap', 'Peace', 'Snow Mouse' and 'Summer Snow'.

I have a good hosta nursery nearby and may buy a few, but I try to limit my mail-order to one nursery each year to save on shipping.

Blue Angel is a great hosta, but put it where it will have lots of room. Mine is huge. Smiling It is still my favorite hosta.

Diann... how long have you had your Blue Angel??

I checked my files, i got mine in June of 07 ... i think it was ONE eye last year.
Hadn't seen any yet this year, but i left Wisc on Monday... so i'm sure it's up by now.

Guess i'm hoping for more than ONE eye for this year.

Thanks guys. It's probably 15 years or so old.. I suppose eventually I'll need to divide it, but until it declines I'm not messing with it.
