Thanks Neal. That was nature's doing. I just happened to catch it. Smiling

Linnea - I love the camelias too. I am itching to go into the neighbors yard to give them the good pruning they really need (after bloomtime). I already prune back the rhododendrons, so I don't think he would mind. The three camelia bushes are always loaded with blooms, but almost always bloom too early and get some frost damage.

On a similar note, did any of you get a glimpse of the Northern Lights a couple nights ago ? We could just make out a 'glimmer"of them, here.

We are too far south to see them. I would love someday to travel north to see them...as well as some of the beautiful country up yonder!

Everyone back home in Michigan got a great show. There were some impressive videos. Too far South down here. I miss seeing them.

I have been *north* hundreds of times. Every season of the year. Never once have I seen the Northern Lights. They evade me. Sad

They aren't a common siting, so it is pretty easy to miss them. And it is just sheer luck to be outside and notice them too.

Thankful for these early season starters! I. reticulata 'Harmony' coming along nicely. I think I actually got a whiff of them today! I was bent over nearby and caught a light, sweet fragrance on the breeze. Hmmmm....makes me think these need to be planted by the 100!

Hi Betsy @piksihk
Crimson King is one of my earliest to bloom. It's not terribly tall.. somewhere around 22". It reblooms occasionally for me in California, and is very vigorous in growth. That would be my guess..

I love the shade of blue of Harmony. Our other one is Katharine Hodgkin. Need more.
