Land of the Giants had its annual driveway sale this weekend (still happening if you happen to live anywhere Milton, WI, and completely worth attending!) I figured I'd share some images here with fingers crossed that Cubits "lives long and prospers." (That's a hint at one of the hostas I bought. Hilarious! )

Here's a shot of hosta heaven...

Some lovelies growing in deep shade. Alas, I didn't get any plant names because they were a little too obscured without actually walking into the beds to peer at them, which I wasn't about to do.

This shot gives you just a little indication of how BIG this place is, and how many gorgeous healthy hostas are growing here.

A couple new babies followed me home. The only thing that kept me from buying more is a) beds not prepared yet, and b) my hosta society sale and auction next weekend.

Oh, and p.s. -- please ignore all the damn dandelions in the lawn. My excuse is, "They came with the house." (They really did!)

And here's 'Vulcan.' Seems I really do have a thing for hostas with a lot of white. This one's reputed to be vigorous for a white, so I guess we'll see.

Karen, you'll LOVE Rainforest Sunrise! I have it and it is still a bit young and I am still not as observant as I should be, from month to month with hosta. I saw it in a friend's garden yesterday and its colors and corrugation were just awesome, I had to ask what it was. Well, I came home and mine had changed coloring so drastically from just a few weeks ago, mine looked like hers.:)

Thanks, pastime! Like the weeds in the yard, that's another thing that came with the house, so I'm not really sure whether it IS old or was just made to LOOK old.

When you talk about weeds, I shiver. Spent two days pulling garlic mustard and ivy from my little Japanese garden. There's still lots to do, but managed to free the big hostas from the ivy's grip. There's bamboo, pachysandra, toad lilies and several kinds of ferns in there too. I haven't a clue what kind of hostas are in there. One in the back is a Sum and Substance. The rest are unknown to me. I only tag daylilies. I'm bad.

All the previous owners of my place left me was three really old obnoxious chickens and weeds. Smiling LOL I'd rather have the plant stand.

The previous owner of my place also left me an attic full of old ripped clothes and a margarita maker. I really need to use that margarita maker. Hilarious!

It looks like you did quite well at LTG. We were up there a couple of years ago and were amazed at his gardens. We ran into Jeff and his wife last fall at the Foxfire sellout and he was buying several of their of their hostas so I would imagine he has expanded a lot since we were there.

pastime
You have some really nice looking Noids in your garden. They don't need to have a name on them to be standouts. If you are really interested in knowing their names, post some pictures of each along with any info you can provide such as height, width, leaf size, and if possible flower color, on the hosta I.D. forum and maybe someone give you an idea who they are.

Gary - Jeff seems like a great guy. I don't know him well, but he's the VP of my local hosta society. He put on a slide presentation at one of the meetings showing some before and after shots of his garden. He also showed us photos of the 3 (or more?) large U-haul trailers full of hostas he and Penny (his wife) picked up at Foxfire. Drooling
