Thanks Tiffany!

The rudbeckia haven't begun blooming yet -- they always come later but they are looking VERY robust this year. Green Grin! Also the gaillardia haven't gotten onto full swing yet. I found some sweet william today - have to load the pics later.

Wow, look at the seed pods on the maypop! I've never seen them with seed pops here. Love the ditch roses.

I've never gotten any fruit from my passion vines either, the gulf fritillary caterpillars usually eat everything above ground in late summer (which is why I planted some originally anyway.) It struggles to come back each year, a few sprigs. I had no idea the fruit could form so early in the year, it was cool to see that. They were growing along a piece of pavement that only exists so maintenance vehicles can get to a bridge, a spot that's mowed occasionally. There was a pretty large patch of it & I figured it would be OK to take a few cuttings, pieces that were going out of the grass and onto the pavement, where they would be likely to get run over &/or mowed soon. Hopefully it will get going more on our fence.

I imagine you could collect some seed pods when they ripen & if you should happen to help some of them to scatter further around the area then all the better. Hilarious!

It's driving DH nuts but I won't let him mow yet. The grass isn't really tall enough yet, just the wildflowers! The thought of mowing basically nothing but flowers is too much for me. I LOVE seeing the lawns in our older neighborhoods where there's never been sod laid. Some of the greenery is grass, but mostly other plants.

Tradescantia (spiderwort) mostly with a few Rumex (sorrel,) Nuttallanthus, Hypochaeris, and the henbit (Lamium) is almost over.

He still doesn't believe me that I used to pay $5 for the tiniest little pot of spiderwort when I was in OH. Sometimes I don't either, and old habits die hard. It's not easy for me to dig that out of beds but it has to be done. There's more than enough in the "lawn."
