Love the pictures of Granny's Harp you put in the Data Base! What a cute one.

We had a thunderstorm last evening and I did not know what would be left to bloom today but I do have a few. The little guys make it through storms better than the others.

Thanks Tom. It is one I got from Denise and I really like it. The bud looks brownish pink before it opens and does not look pretty at all. Then when it opens.... what a treat! I am trying to take photos of the ones that are not in the database. When others are entered of these irises that are better quality photos I will delete mine. smiles

Since I first bought this little iris it has had a difficult life. In 2005 a huge truck parked its wheels on it and turned them just grinding the clump down to a few broken rhizomes. It took two years before I got one bloom. Since then it has twice suffered some form of rot and I have had to do a sever cut back to save it. This year it seems to be growing nicely. The blooms are paler than normal but after all it has been through I am very glad to see it blooming. One thing I can say about this little iris is if it grows for you, you will get a springtime bloom faithfully.

Everyday now I cant wait for daylight, Leslie and Celia. Especially if it rains a bit then I know they have made progress. I see bloom stalks forming on my IB's too. After the dwarfs they will be the next to bloom... that is if everything stays in line and takes their turn. They do overlap a little so that I should have an iris blooming from now until June. smiles.

In a *normal* year I would have blooms from March into June. This is not a normal year. its anybody's guess what will happen. As it is I have bloomstalks on three TB's that are not supposed to bloom until the end of April. ???

This one bloomed yesterday but has more open today.

Bowl of cherries

Here is a bloom open on Killarney Green. The two blooms are crowding each other. This one has grown a little tall this season. The photo is more yellow and the actual bloom is more green. I love the plum markings on the green falls.

Fancy Sparkler is one of my favorites. It is a deep velvety plum in the shade and a rich glowing firey plum in the sun. It has substance and I think the light hafts set off the deeper tones.

I keep a lot of my extra dwarfs in tubs and pots in order to move them near porches, walkways and decks during bloom time. Here is fancy sparkler with a tub or grape hyacinths and a tub of white tulips nearing bloom.

Yes, I did and it is growing nicely. Fancy Sparkler is a very nice little iris. Even the buds are big and beautiful.

I bought Nosferatu from the PNW sale and I received three rhizomes. It has a bloom stalk on each one. The problem is the first bud to show any color at the tip is showing bright yellow. Not Nosferatu I think. I will wait for it to open and then post a photo on here. I may have bought Notferatu instead. Leslie is on my list for that one.
