Yep, that's right. By the time they bloomed again I'd forgotten about them and it was a surprise, LOL.

Just be sure to keep an eye on the foliage a few weeks after bloom, once it starts yellowing, it dries up fast. Some years I waited just a little too long and could hardly find the clumps.

Same here. I watch them closely for quite a while, then get to thinking they aren't quite ready yet, and then by the next time I think about them and work my way into where they're hiding, their clump area is so very undefined! I think maybe I'll surround those clumps with stone markers this year... maybe that will help.

That's a good idea. Often I have been so sure I was digging in the right spot, and found nothing.

Tickled Pinkeen is showing nice color as the bloom matures.

2nd year in the garden for Golden Echo. It has already multiplied well, I'm really liking this one!

Orange Sunset, Sound, and Kedron. Kedron is a unique color that is hard to capture with my camera, sort of a peachy amber perianth.

Accent, and I think Katie Heath, although it could possibly be Kaydee. Several years ago we had septic work done and there was miscommunication about when the work would begin. I woke up to a backhoe tearing through my gardens before I had a chance to dig and move anything! Bulbs popped up in odd places after that.

Mount Hood and another pic of Beersheba now that most of the buds are open. Loving Beersheeba! If it multiplies well, it could easily become my favorite Daff.

Morning all.
Great seeing all your garden daffodils blooming.Nothing flowering here in Australia of course at this time, but a few noses are showing. You might like to see where I hybridise and grow my miniature daffodils.

Very cool! I'd love to see pics of the hybridizing process and seedlings you've developed!

Tickled Pinkeen is a new one, and now having seen it, I want to plant City of Harlem and Gypsy Queen Hyacinths around them. I was very reasonably priced, unlike other pink/yellow bicolors, and looks like its going to be a heavy bloomer- I counted 15 blooms from 5 bulbs!

I might just have to give that one a go. I could order 5 bulbs & see how they do for me. It says they are good in zone 8. There's only 1 way to find out right?

I planted 125 of them and so far this is the only one that has bloomed. I don't see any buds on the others but I am not stressing about it. They may just need to hit their stride. I am sure next year they will go gangbusters.

Yep Rita, I'm downright daffy for daffs, LOL!

Sound, and a split cup I've lost track of the name- it reminds me of a cream sickle. Mmmm...haven't had one of those in many years, now I want one, LOL.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! I keep adding more myself. Some do better than others as far as settling in and coming back year after year after year,. And I never cut the folliage, just leave them be naturally. But some types just seem to be stronger.

Most definitely. I've had 2 yellow/pink bicolors that dwindled over the years, under the same conditions many were multiplying like mad. They were Billy Graham and Fidelity. BG is still hanging in there, there are 4 or 5 blooms after having it 10 years. I'll dig them this year and move them to an amended spot with bone meal. I rarely go to any trouble with Daffs as far as fertilizing is concerned, aside from an occasional light broadcast of bone meal over the whole bed. But if I'm giving one tlc to try and bring it back, I'll go to some extra effort for a really pretty one. Fidelity died out completely. It was in a spot where there was too much shade and competition from tree roots, where Ara had also dwindled. A tree and some big limbs were removed and there's plenty of sun now.

Fidelity and Ara are both so pretty. I will have to remember to check where mine are planted to see how well they are coming up this spring.

I had a really lovely one called Maria that I have only ever seen at Brent And Beckies. But they have been dying out and in the front this spring there are only a handful left coming up.
