Angela, Your pot looks great now. I cannot imagine them looking better later. I put together some perennial pots last Fall. I tried roses in the middle which I do not think survived. The lilies are coming up, and the Heuchera did good. I see little tips of the coneflowers returning.

The shape of the planters are round and I wanted something tall in the middle I thought the rose bush would do good but I guess not. They were cheap on sale Knockout roses from K-mart so not a big investment to experiment.

I do not know what I am going to do to replace the roses. I am thinking maybe some type of bush that has colored leaves. Also I am thinking maybe Hydrangea Endless summer they are suppose to bloom all summer. They are big Pots about 4' tall and 3' wide. I use to grow Brugmansia trees in them but I got tired of dragging those monster inside every winter. Thumbs down

Thanks for the welcome valleylynn.

Sorry I don't have a picture to put up... I haven't even checked how to post one yet, but my computer card slot is fried. If I think to get it done I will sneak it on via my dear husbands laptop. I do have the begonias to photograph, though.

Hi Carolyn. You can use a USB cord to connect camera to computer. Most cameras have a place to plug it into. Very inexpensive. You would just have to get the one that fits your camera. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd...
Can't wait to see your photos.

@Angela you have created a beautiful container which will do well in spring & fall as the pansies and allysum are cool weather plants. Last week I found combo containers at Menard's and all I had to do is plop it into my containers and add osmocote. I will also use a water soluable ferilizer at half strength weekly from the end of May until Sept depending on how hot it gets and how early fall will arrive. They were planted in a one gallon pot for $7.99. They do the research to combine like plants in like conditions so I can be a successful gardener...awesome!

Susan that is awesome I love that idea! Makes life so much easier I like that combo. Do you think the pansey will last till fall? They look really happy and healthy now I wonder what the summer heat will do those happy faces.

I'm a little worried about the astilbe I planted not coming up I don't see any signs of it I hope the bulb's didn't rot.
I noticed the other day the creeping jenny I planted last year is coming back now that's a hardy plant!

Angela, you reminded me that I need to go check on my Astilbe. And I didn't know that creeping jenny was that hardy. I love the chartreuse color. It is so bright and pleasing.

I think the pansies will sort of fade off when it gets really hot where you live. If you leave them in the pot they will probably start blooming again in fall. Here they sell annuals & a variety of pansies that are perennial but don't like our our heat & humidity and bloom spring & again in fall.Pansies are also an edible plant & can be sugar coated.

I'm hoping the astilbe come up before they fade. It's funny I've never noticed pansies in the fall may just be I over looked them or maybe they aren't popular here for fall containers. I may have to try the sugar coated pansies thanks for the reminder Thank You!
