I got this from a friend -- do you think this is a Golden Tiara too?? Her's were quite large - 10 years old and never split - so this plant was a division from a mature plant.

Check the Hosta Plant database - there are leaf measurements for the ones entered into the database. Also do vein counts, etc. The pic above does not look like Golden Tiara (nor does the one posted 2nd in your other id thread). The pic with the cat looks like Golden Tiara.

Yeah -- I have been out there searching and searching. When I looked at the Golden Tiara on the Hosta Direct database.. there are pictures that show mature plants that size wise seem "larger" than the measurements. I don't know.

I can say that since I receive these plants from NON-Hostaholics that they should be "common" hosta's and not something that "we" (hosta-holics) go hunting for.

Anyways - any "guesses", "thoughts", "ideas", "suggestions" are much appreciated.

I don't think 'Golden Tiara' gets all that big. I do think the picture with the cat in your other thread looks like 'Golden Tiara,' and the scale seemed about right to me, but I agree with CJ that this one doesn't at all. 'Golden Tiara' has no dimpling that I've ever seen, and this plant does. The leaf shape is more rounded on 'Golden Tiara,' as well. Cordate, perhaps, but not as elongated as those leaves look.

This actually looks much like the hosta recently identified for me as fortunei Aureomarginata.

OK - Cat picture is now formally identified as Golden Tiara.

And I think you are correct Karen -- it does look like fortunei Aureomarginata!! I like it!!

Here is another pic of the same plant (as above) that was split and given to me....

I think it might be hard to tell until it's completely unfurled and leafed out. Either one is an attractive hosta, though.

If you can put something like a pop can next to the plant so we have a frame of reference for size, it would be helpful.
