I received this plant from my DMIL and have had it in the garden for 3 years... it is Medium green with narrow white band on margin; slightly wavy.

On the Hosta Database it is reported to be no longer grown due to weakness of the plant. Very similar to H.'Touchstone', from England....

I split this when I first received it into 4 divisions and all are doing well..... so am hoping this is the plant.... again should be a rather common plant... am surprised to see that it is "no longer grown due to weakness of the plant"

Specifications:
Leaf - Color Detail Medium green leaf with a white margin
Leaf - Center Color Green
Leaf - Margin Color White
Leaf - Shape Cordate-Heart
Leaf - Size 4.5" x 3.5" W
Leaf - Length 4.5
Leaf - Width 3.5
Leaf - Vein Pairs 6

I think you are correct and so does mine -- I got that out of the Hosta database.... I think it is wrong in there.... Blinking

How does that happen? Meaning those stats get entered into the database?

When people register a hosta, they don't have to grow it out to full maturity. They make a guess sometimes, so the registered size may be incorrect. Also hostas grow different sizes under different conditions, as we all experience.
You can add a comment to the record that yours measures ?? x ?? and the state/zone you live in.

I just figured out that you didn't go to the Hostas cubit Hosta Plant Records database for your info. (The inaccuracy of info in DG plantfiles and elsewhere is why I do not link into dave's Master Plant files).

Here is the entry for Francee in the Hostas Cubit Hosta Plant Records database:

http://cubits.org/Hostas/db/ho...

The records here in this cubit are checked against the AHS registry, then supplemented using the Hosta Library and MyHostas database (three respected sites in the hosta world).

To get to the Hostas Cubit databases, go to the right panel and click on "databases".

Oh Duh --- I should have used the Cubits DB -- sorry -- just getting the hang of this. I used the hostasdirect.com site to search.

That's a really nice search they have there, and it says 7000 hostas, but it looks like the info isn't always accurate. the MyHostas.net one is a user input one, and sometimes that one has conflicting info, too. Guess the Hostas Direct will at least give possibilites and then a check of the Hosta Library for pics after that would help in ID-ing.
