We live in an RV park where we can have all of the plants that we want, but can't plant them in the ground? Would Clematis work in a large pot?

Yes, they can be grown in containers. I believe Ray Evison actually has a group of clematis that he specifically created for pot culture. Sorry, but I'm at work right now and can't look for details. Maybe try Googling it...
