It was growing in a shallow puddle on top of a huge boulder, I couldn't find it growing in drier spots. The puddle was constantly fed by little brooks coming from the mountains.

Could it be in the Campanulaceae family? But then they normally have 5 flower petals instead of only 4.. Rolling my eyes.

Oldenlandia salmannii (Rubiaceae) is the one!! Thanks a lot! Thumbs up
The other species occurring in the Rio state is Oldenlandia corymbosa, but that one has doesn't look like it.
