I have to bring this one indoors, it cannot stand our cold inversions here. I lost one late last Fall, thankfully this one I was able to salvage in time, and kept it indoors, before being repotted in its current location in Spring.

July photo update of my crotons. They do enjoy the heat, but the leaves are doing this curly leaf growth, I guess a reaction to our extreme dry heat conditions. Have been spritzing the leaves and giving it frequent watering too to help in the humidity aspect.

Thanks for the update Tarev. I was wondering how your plant was doing.

I read they are heavy feeders in the summer. I started giving mine my beer fertilizer mixture and the little one took off. It was lingering until I gave it the fertilizer.

I will put it in the Terrarium this winter. I know I will not water it as much as it wants when I bring inside for the winter. It will be its only survival tactic. I picked one up like the one you have for 1.00 and it is enjoying the all the rain we have been getting and the fertilizer.

I am very bad with applying fertilizer..maybe I will try and give it some. I know some of my plants just go on hiatus for awhile when our temps go into the extreme heat side. But I give them water everyday, not heavy since we are in drought, but any little works to help them endure the heat wave.

I understand I was not a big fertilizer either. But to get the Epi's to bloom I had to do something and since I am giving them a shot I usually give everybody a shot. I was surprised how fast the little thin leaf Croton that I said looked like a colorful spider plant started putting out the leaves. So I went on a search and that is when I found that they said they are heavy feeders in the summer.

Your curling leaves might be just the way that plant grows. I saw a lot of pics that the plants curled. I think it adds a certain beauty of the plant.

I agree with Cinta, I believe the curly leaves are natural. I've seen several with curly and straight leaves. Smiling
