I have never grown a hop vine before, but I ordered one and it has arrived. The planting instructions say to plant the "Rhizome" etc. etc. But the thing I've received looks very much like a 3-inch section of woody grape vine that is sprouting, not a rhizome (I'm picturing something like an Iris). Is this what a hop vine should look like? I'm just concerned in case I got the wrong plant. A hop vine I want; a grape vine I do not want.

Here is a picture of a hop vine rhizome (female plant) your description seems to match.
