Been working in an area I started on last year and spotted a BUNCH of these. Really don't know how I missed them before as there are quite a lot of them in this area...guess I should check other places as well. Might I want to move some elsewhere where they won't get mowed over??

It's a groundcherry, possibly Clammy Ground Cherry (Physalis heterophylla) , but there are many species of Physalis, which often aren't that easy to tell apart.

Good for you. I'm happy that you asked for the identification before pulling them up. I had a knee-jerk reaction and ripped mine out in a hurry. I asked for help with the ID after the damage had been done.

I'd say you should add your pics to the plant database, however I''ve forgotten how that works, I don't think I've added any. I know it was explained to me last year, beyond that not a clue.

Worth a try since the description lacks any photos.

Actually Wes I added them to the "general" entry for physalis since I can't say for SURE which one it is.
