You'll find pics from Allegan Fog - Janet at:

I felt the thread was getting a bit too long.

Jewel of the Nile

June - this was larger but was divided

Another June which was divided from the first one 2 years ago. Taken at the same time. Notice the difference in colour. This one gets less sun.

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/bff67a Karin is NOT one of my success stories this year. The excessive rain early in the season has contributed to drawstring.

Kifukurin Ko Mame is my most prolific mini. Have had it for at least a decade, but bought just one little plant. I have it in 4 places in the yard - makes a great border and looks even better now I've gotten rid of the crocus foliage.

Kinbotan - a mini acquired last year. Looks a bit similar to KKM above and looks as though it will grow fast.

Lemon Frost - a very fast growing mini. I have a developing border of this as well.

Liberty - third year in my garden, but it was a good-sized plant to begin with. Already attracting attention.

Little Red Rooster - also fast growing and slightly rhizomatous. Was divided in the spring.

Little Sunspot - a really bright spot and it looks good next to Fire Island.

Lakeside hostas a bit out of order because I abbreviate their name starting with Lk_ This is Lakeside Cranberry Relish. 3rd year.

Lakeside Cupcake. I don't much like this one. Very slow growing. I had 2 eyes last year but am back to 1 this year. The leaves are out of proportion large to the size of the plant. I think I'll be offering it up next year at the hort society sale.

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/79b431 Lakeside Elfin Fire - fast growing for a WHITE mini.

Lakeside Shoremaster. I really like this one this year. Plants around it are OnStage in the background and Heuchera Lime Rickey next to it.

Lakeside Zinger - was completely divided up and replanted in groups. It forms a very dense mound with the roots all twisted up together.

Lonesome Dove - really slow growing but doing OK

Loyalist

Mack the Knife - wasn't doing well in a dry spot between a tree and my driveway. Lifted it and took a couple of divisions this spring and replanted in another location. It's got a bit of sunburn from when the sun got strong in June, but in general seems to be doing better.

Oops - I missed a couple of nice "L" hostas - Last Dance

Marilyn Monroe is become a frilly show off

Masquerade - a very slow growing mini. This is a decade old never divided.

Mighty Mouse with the proper colouring

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/ef690e a Mighty Mouse I found this year and bought. Have dubbed it 'Mighty Confused Mouse' because it's all mixed up as to colouring.

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/815bb8 Moonstruck is prone to melting out and it looks awful this year. I think it got very little sun in April and May and too much in June. It's also on the east side of my house but maybe the strong sun bounced off aluminum siding on 2 houses only about 8-9 feet away from each other.

Morning Light is in the same location and also afflicted. The June in between them is doing fine.

Mouse Trap (looks identical to Snow Mouse)

My Claire looks lovely this year. A gorgeous small hosta. Was totally divided and what I didn't sell was replanted in 3 groups.

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/24f172 - Obsession doesn't thrill me. It's the wrong colour green for this location. Isn't particularly shiny and I think next year it will be entirely divided for sale or for the Hort. Society sale.

Thumb of 2011-06-24/ViolaAnn/8936c6 - a streaked plant of unknown origin which was given to me when the Ontario Hosta Society toured my garden a year ago. I'm calling it OHS Streaker.

OnStage looks really good this year.

Orange Marmalade was a gift 2 years ago in mid-July and it's developing nicely.

Outhouse Delight always fries a bit early in the season. It has shown quite a bit of growth and is now developing its misty green leaves.

Paradise Island was new this spring.

Paul's Glory is looking good this year.

I'll BBL.

Thanks, Christine.

Here are a few more.

Peace was new last year. I hear it's hard to grow well. We'll see.

Peanut is a mini. Seems to like where it is.

Peppermint Ice must be rhizomatous because it has put out growth in 2 directions far from the original plant. One of those I divided off. The other I'll divide off next year or in the autumn.

Thumb of 2011-06-25/ViolaAnn/8ebdae This is a very special streaked sport of Pewterware which was given to me by a friend.

Praying Hands is just plain dramatic.

Punky is a sport of Blue Wedgwood and I have them next to each other. The form of the plant is the same. I like the subtle colour variations in Punky and it gets lighter during the season though not as much lighter as Janet does.

Rainbow's End

Rainforest Sunrise looks good this year. I sometimes have mixed feelings about it because of the amount of stuff it collects that falls from the trees.

Raspberries and Cream

Red Hot Flash forms an unruly mound. The leaf colour becomes whiter as the season progresses.

Some real lovelies there! I'm loving my 'Paradise Island' so far. Got it from Hallson's and it's a stunner, despite hail damage that tattered it up quite a bit earlier this spring.

Mine's still very yellow. It gets a shot of mid-afternoon sun for a couple of hours which is probably what does it.

Paul - not sure if the same would apply to 'Paradise Island' but since it's a 'Fire Island' sport, I think it might. I had two divisions of 'Fire Island' and the one in the darker location was fully green by mid July. The one getting lots of morning sun stayed yellow or at least chartreuse all summer.
