Anyone familiar with Begonia's? These are photos I took a couple of years ago of a fairly large Begonia at our local Botanical Gardens (where nothing is labeled!) and I'm wondering if this could be Begonia nelumbiifolia?

They look long & leggy, maybe too little light, but maybe.

Sorry Lin, but the more I compare, it looks like you've got some kinda canestem Begonia.

I'm lost when it comes to figuring out garden varieties.



Regardless, the Begonia makes a good garden plant, and you can put the flowers in your salad!

Dave, thanks for your input. Wow .... those are really gorgeous!! Comparing the leaves in your photos to those in my pic's, it doesn't look to be the same Begonia. I'll just keep my pictures in the unidentified folder.

it's def not a B. nelumbiifolia - they have tear-drop (roundish) leaf, not a one-sided comma-type leaf like yours.

Yep, I noticed the leaf difference when Dave posted his photos.
