Russ Kinsman just called to say Polly died today.
She had been battling cancer for a few years.
I am posting this on the iris forum because she has many friends here. We lived within an hour of each other and visited several times a year.
I will surely miss her.

Ohhhhhh noooooooooooooooo......................I didn't know what was wrong with her, but I guessed that she was battling cancer from some of the comments she made over the last year or so. I am so sad to hear this. That damned disease................

Thank you, Jo Ann, for letting us know. She had remarked on CUBITS that she was going for another surgery but that was some time ago. I liked knowing she was there. I will miss her posts. CUBITS will never feel the same.

Unbelievable! It only feels like we all started Cubits a short time ago and then on to ATP, Can't comprehend this sad news.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I never got a chance to get to know her, but I will miss her all the same. May she always rest in peace.

Oh no! I knew she had a series of surgeries and wondered what was up. So sad. We all have lost a good friend in deed. Peace be to her and her family.

I first chatted with Polly several years ago on the iris forum on DG. After she received some crude comments from another DG member she left as did Betja. I followed them to cubits and then ATP. People who we will never meet personally become friends here because we love the same things, our plants, flowers, gardens etc. I tell my children that if I don't answer my phone some day and they come and find that I have passed while in the garden I will have died happy......

I feel privileged that she considered me a friend.

I didn't know her but I know a lot of you did. My heart breaks for all of you. to you all and Polly's family.

She adopted all of us & I didn't realize she was ill. So very sorry & bless her.

I never had the privilege of knowing Polly but my heart goes out to her family and to all of you who were her friends.

Polly was a very quiet -private person. I will post something on CUBITS also.

I never knew that she was fighting this battle, but knowing it now explains a lot. She is and always will be Ms. Polly to me, as I've always thought of her with deep respect and gratitude. She taught me much about kindness, in and of itself, with never anything expected in return. She was one of the most truly generous people I've ever come into contact with, though we never met in person. I'm very saddened to hear the news of her passing.

This will always be "Ms. Polly's Hellebore" to me. Shared with me a couple of years ago, and blooming for her now.

I, too, received many "gift" plants from her....if she thought I should try something....she just sent it ! A very generous lady
