It is about 19 inches tall, blooms typical size, may or may not be a median (sizes off this year due to late snow/ice). Had a definite lighter purple thumbprint on the falls, and darker rusty brown at hafts. All the blooms that have opened are this color.

Got it through Schreiners last fall but can't find anything like it under their purple or their blue irises!!
Help!

Not a clue. It is very pretty, though.

I agree. It is pretty, but I haven't seen one like it. Especially the falls. It is a bit more purple than my pictures, my camera adds a bit more violet.

You should contact Schreiner's. It may be something they had in the past and can help you identify... and if they sent it for something else you ordered, you should get what you ordered too. It seems to happen a lot with them.. They're very nice about replacements.

Sherry, I agree. This is the second year in a row that they sent me the wrong iris. Never used to have that issue with them. I plan to call them tomorrow, then send them the pictures. I really want the Smoke and Thunder I bought.

What this iris looks like most is one of their purple and white plicatas that went haywire. Imagine the lighter purple as white and you get the idea.

There's a reasonably good chance it is 'This and That'

Intermediate Bearded Iris (Iris 'This and That')

It's a fairly distinctive IB.

Distinctive is right. I think you nailed it Kent. I looked at some other pics of This And That too and they all look just like the one in my garden. Mine has that strong purple midrib on the standards. The markings match up too. Thank You! Thank You!

Went back to Schreiner's site. They have This And That. Would not have recognized it from their picture though! Hilarious!

Don't get me started with their pics Sherry! I know now to always run a google image search before buying an iris there.

At least it's a keeper! I really like it.

You are right Tom. At least it was unique. I will definitely keep it, just probably move it to a different location this fall.
