Some of the herbs commonly used in Mexican cuisine are bay, basil, rosemary, oregano, and sage. Most of us are familiar with these herbs and many grow them in their own herbal gardens.

Interesting article. I think I'd get the most use from the Cilantro but the Fall blooms on the Aniz might be a welcome addition, I'd definitely be tempted to try a licorice-like tea at least once...I do occasionally enjoy an Anice-flavored Greek beverage but a warm tea-like drink might be interesting? Sticking tongue out I've grown quite a few herbs/spices but other than hot peppers I usually just reach for the mass produced cheap stuff on the spice rack. Hmm? I know I've seen the pre-potted Bonnie Cilantro, I'll have to pick one up to try the difference between fresh and dried. Thumbs up

I just bought some herbs and potted them with a geranium. I had not heard of Aniz before. I hope to add more herbs in a few weeks, so will have to look for this. Thanks for the info!

Wes, that is a nice compliment to call my post informative. I appreciate that. Thank You!

If either of you would like seed instead of buying plants, I have some extra. Just let me know.

Again, thanks to you both...

I appreciate the offer Kristi, but I'm going to pass. After considering how big the plants get, I probably should stick with the herbs that can be tucked in around other plants. Thanks again!
