The second mystery sedum I posted is now blooming. Cute little white star flowers. Some of the leaves have turned a little red. I do think it is different than the first one since it is not showing any signs of blooming yet.

Interesting--it looks a little like my 'Coral Carpet', which just put out a tiny white bud

It does look a lot like yours. I had it marked Sedum album coral carpet, but someone thought it was not coral enough. http://www.perennials.com/plan... It looks a lot like one of Lynn's sedum album in the database too.

Mine has not turned very coral colored either, and I had it all last summer as well. I think the coloring has to do with the light it gets--mine may not get enough light for full color. Sad

It is one of the S. album sedum. Whether or not it is 'Coral Carpet' is difficult to say. Sweet little blooms. Mine has bloomed also.

Lynn, do you think if I moved my 'Coral Carpet' to a sunnier spot, it would get more color? Or is it something else?

Move it to more sun, if it colors up you will know which one it is. I have S. album growing in full sun, it does not turn coral colored.

@Catmint20906 @stilldew
Robin how is your Sedum album doing? Did you move it to sun? If so, did it color up for you?

Susan how is yours doing. Did it color up?

@valleylynn Could Susan's (stilldew) sedum perhaps be Sedum Twisted Mr Fred ? Blinking

Hi Jean, how is your S. Twisted Mr. Fred doing?

No, I don't see that Susan's sedum is the same as your interesting 'Twisted Mr. Fred'. Her second photo appears to be one of the S. album.

Hi Lynn. I was only half serious. Sedum album was the first ID for Fred.

Someone decided that Fred would be happier living elsewhere. Two containers of succulents grew legs one day and evidently they were strong legs capable of going the distance because there was no trace of them. Shrug!

I guess a pretty container full of pretty healthy plants was just too great a temptation for someone to pass up. Sighing!

Oh no, I was really looking forward to seeing how it was doing this year. I am so sorry. I wonder if Altmans still has it?
It was a nice container of plants. I just don't understand when people do things like that. So far I have not had that happen, but most of my containers are in the back yard.
I did have someone deposit a large garden gnome in a pyracantha bush in the front yard. Rolling on the floor laughing
Either that or it was out for a walk and got lost? Whistling

Thanks Lynn.
I need to check Altman's. It has been a busy couple of years and not a lot of gardening. It has made me try and take stock of what I really want to spend my time growing however.

The pyracantha may have reached out to the gnome. According to my husband pyracanthas and bouganvilleas have a mind of their own and have no problem trying to grab him just to give him grief. Whistling

I'll let ya know if I find another Fred. Thumbs up

I wonder if this is the same as 'Fred'. I bought it as Sedum mexicanum, but had it removed from the database because I don't think that's correct. It does have spiral growth, but that's not readily apparent. It basically blooms off and on all year. There doesn't seem to be a season. It's proving to be a nice plant. I moved it back outside today for the next few days. I've let be exposed to hoar frost, but not temps below 32F. I'm really pleased with it so far.

Donald, where did you get yours from? That does look like Fred. Hurray!

@Moonhowl did you see Donald's sedum?

Awww, Sedum Twisted Mr Fred has a brother, Hurray!

@needrain Donald, your sedum looks exactly like the one I had. We think it is Sedum Spiral Staircase. It was sold as Sedum mexicanum but that blooms yellow and doesn't have Fred's special twist.

Where did you find your plant?
