Much of the rain missed us. Our total is a little under 3". The radar currently shows it raining here - but it isn't.

Porkpal, being so close to the coast, I would have thought you guys would have had much more than that. With the dynamics of the lake and the hills we get skipped over a lot but not this round of storms. It is crazy. You can literally see it on the radars dissipating right over us and then form again. I started saving images a few years ago to prove to myself it was not in my imagination that it was happening.

I just looked at the radar..... maybe not.. sure looks dark across the lake.

The big rains stayed north of the coast. There was a big cell south of us that dribbled some on us. I ran out and put down more stuff on the lawn. I got a little wet. It's still very lightly raining now. Maybe heavier rain will come? I've decided I have lost the war on Virginia Buttonweed. I pulled up a full empty fertilizer bag of it today. Since it's too late and hot to use weedkiller, on a dry day, I am going to use a bowl and paintbrush and attack it with round up.

I have heard that all-weed lawns are very "in" this year! Be the first in your neighborhood to start a new trend!

Esperanza said:After yesterdays raining of whales and elephants (not cats and dogs) We are close to 12" in a little over a week. I am starting to worry about my succulents. My garden is an absolute jungle right now. Everything has put on a few inches. I think I did as well sitting around not working for a whole week Rolling on the floor laughing Time to get back to work. Thank goodness the heat spell was broken.

How did everyone else do?

Even though we're in Central Texas also I don't think we got nearly as much rain as you. I put all my succulents in one of the greenhouses after the first few days of rain to keep them from drowning. I moved my one blooming Adenium into it also to keep the bloom and buds from getting knocked off. I sure hope the city gives us a chance to get the grass cut before they send the Code Enforcement troops out to start giving citations. I can't believe that it's only 75 outside at the moment. I just know we're going to have to pay for this somehow down the road.

Yes it is and they actually come out with tape measures. I had to trim some limbs from my tree in the front earlier this summer because they were lower than 10' over the sidewalk and 14' over the street. The ones over the sidewalk were still higher than any person I've seen.

Tape measures? That's messed up! Who can sleep at night being that guy? I worked for a car dealership briefly and it made me take a really hard look at how I wanted to contribute to this world at 19 yr old.. I still reflect to that job till this day. I am not saying I have it all figured out in any way. But...... I had a really big eye opener why there and decided I wanted my energy from my soul going elsewhere. Tape measure dude..... Rolling on the floor laughing .....how pathetic!

Since I have been battling the buttonweed all summer, it's not quite winning totally. It's just so obvius with it's flat, dull thickness. Plus I have a few nore tricks up my sleeve. I have never been trendy anyway.

I've lost track of how much rain we've gotten in the last week or two. I just know everything is soaked or croaked!

Just had a gully washer! IDK if it was too much for my lawn and the additives I placed on it yesterday. I fear it washed it all away! 2" in 30 mins. Be careful what you ask for.

Weather patterns have certainly changed recently. It used to be that our area was a wet one, now the rains sweep through central Texas and stay north of us. We just got a brief shower this morning.

I'm just a few miles south of Cheryl and we got an inch here, but it came down really fast! Also had some fierce lightning. Now that part, I don't like. Our electricity didn't go out, which is a miracle.
