Does anyone have or know where I can get the converted Beautiful Edgings?
I know It exists because it's made 8 daylilies and someone has to have it. I have the diploid and it does so great that I would love to hybridize wth the Tet.
I can't find anything with a Google search.
Thank You!

Have you contacted Stamile to see if he has any for sale? Looks like he is the one using it.

Stamile moved to CA. The Pierces now own Floyd Cove and don't have it on their price list.
I read that Stamile didn't take very many daylilies to CA, so I don't think he would have it.

Only one I can find listing it as a tet in a brief bit of searching:

Might be worth a phone call or e-mail.

I would just make sure that it really is the converted one, and not just an error on listing it as a tet.

Whenever you go to their homepage and then click on catalogue, Beautiful Edgings is not there. Your link has BE but maybe that is their old catalog. Confused
http://www.ruralrootsgardens.c...

I have 20+ fans of Beautiful Edgings, anybody wanna convert it for me??? Hilarious! Sticking tongue out
Does anyone know anybody who will convert daylilies for people? Maybe like Jamie Gossard or Bill Waldrop...

I have no idea about the catalog. The plant has to be around somewhere though - I can't imagine it being dead and gone.

I'm not sure about the conversion. If I had to guess, Bill Waldrop might try if you ask him and send him fans. Which reminds me I need to email him about one of his conversions.

Colchicine isn't that dangerous - it's used as treatment for gout. Adding DMSO make it more able to penetrate the skin which is where the real worry comes in.

Ashton, have you tried posting on Lily Auction in your wanted daylilies? I would definitely try that.

How does that work? Do you list the wanted variety and then get notified if it gets listed on the auction? Or are vendors able to see what is out there on the wanted list? I've seen the option, but never have used it.

Yes you get notified if someone lists that particualar one.
I hardly ever get notified, I guess I like rare daylilies.

LA should add an option so folks could see what was on a wanted list. I expect a lot time someone might want to just divide a clump and only have enough extra for one or two people, but not enough to list on the LA. Or see something someone wanted and was simply willing to arrange to sell it without being a big vendor, though it seems likely the bigger vendors would be the most likely to have something tucked back growing somewhere. I expect bigger vendors operate much like most retail places and concentrate on higher demand cultivars, but they could still have older ones growing here and there.

I use that option alot, and I do get notified. I feel like maybe the sellers( or I hope so), can see a 'mass' wanted list, so if they have something you want, they can list it. Ive also had alot just sit on the list. I tried for Lillians Crazy Arms for the longest time, finally got it this year.

I have gotten a lot of daylilies that way. Sometimes though I get swamped with being notified.
