First daylily bloom happened yesterday, May 8, and amazingly enough, it is a large flowered double, Tribal Council. We have had so much rain and clouds, it is hard for any of the daylilies to get going, but we have loads of scapes and if the sun ever comes out for any length of time, there could be an explosion of blooms, sure hope so.

The high for today is suppose to be 90 degs. So that should be warm enough for the daylilies and they are starting to show much more color even in the FFOE blooms.
In the garden today, I had to just pick a few so many good opportunities for photos today in the garden.
This just gets prettier every day: Fulva

tmuabarth, Welcome!
We love seeing photos of daylilies, and we like comments about them also. You might want to post what growing zone you are in. Thanks for posting the photos, we hope they are the first of many more to follow.

A few new blooms in the garden today.
Tuscawilla Tigress, a large bloom but not nearly as bright orange as I was expecting, maybe the next blooms will be more of a bright orange.

Feliz Navidad, I have waited since last summer to see this bloom, and even the FFOE was worth the wait, now I am looking forward to the next blooms.
Thumb of 2015-05-10/Seedfork/e80d9e

Endowed With Beauty, the first bloom on this plant never did open, this one still looks like it is not fully opened but it is very pretty.

Unknown, I took a few pictures of this and the bug was in everyone, and I can see he has eaten a bit out of the flower, I think this is what has been causes the spots on my Baja, is that a cucumber beetle? The first bloom on this plant was totally washed out, the second was showing a little pattern, and if you look close you can see a pattern forming, don't know if it will ever be very distinct . It actually shows better in the photo than just viewing it in person.
Thumb of 2015-05-10/Seedfork/555fda

Another Unknown, very pale pink with a yellow trim , maybe it will improve also as it blooms more.

Sure looks like one and they are a recorded daylily pest - is it a little more greeny-yellow than in the picture?
